PROGRAM
GOALS:
The Family
Foundations Program (FFP) is an alternative sentencing program
for pregnant or parenting women with children under the age of six,
who have been sentenced to State prison. Women in the FFP
participate in a community substance abuse treatment program while
caring for their children. The program provides an opportunity
for women to develop better life skills, remain free from drugs
and alcohol, became better parents, and successfully transition
to the community. Goals include drug relapse prevention and
reduced recidivism of women who parole from the FFP. The primary
purpose is to break the inter-generational cycle of criminality
and / or addiction.
PROGRAM
STAFFING:
Staff
include substance abuse specialists, a masters level clinician,
a child development specialists, child care attendants, a vocational
specialist, a nurse, a cook, a clinical supervisor, and others who
function as a team to support the highest quality treatment.
